Adjust Your Crown, Inc is a 501c3 youth mentorship nonprofit organization geared towards aspiring young women in Essex County. Our mission is to enrich young women through leadership, mentoring, and social development. Our goal is to preserve our young women, enhance their abilities to be more productive members of society, and adjust/adapt to their situations in a more positive style.
Adjust Your Crown, Inc offers age appropriate group discussions which help young women learn what it means to have their own voices, express themselves respectfully, and bring awareness about real issues going on in our cultures/communities. Engagement includes::
- Group discussions, activities, and projects
- One on One mentoring
- Organization social events
- Community Service
As young women grow and socially develop together during their journey with us, the objective is to:
- have the tools to better assist them in being more responsible and taking accountability for their actions
- shift and evolve them into more mature young ladies, understanding why its important how we treat and respect ourselves
- recognize and be aware of societies we live in today and its importance for young black woman
Adjust Your Crown, Inc is based in East Orange, New Jersey and operate throughout the school year. We service girls in grades 5 and up.
Princess Group- Tues & Thurs: Grades 5th-7th
Pre-Queens Group- Weds: Grades 8th-12th,
All meetings are 5:30pm-7pm
Thursdays are required for grades 5th-8th but encouraged for HS students to attend as it is a day for one on one mentoring, completing homework, studying, and tutuoring.
